A blend of 60% Merlot and 40% Syrah grown on 30 year old vines.

Grown on Jurassic limestone hillsides at an altitude of 150 to 300 meters for the syrah and lime sandstone and Rognaciaen marl for the Merlot.  A selection of old vineyards, characterful but with poor terroirs.  After the grapes are hand picked and destemmed they undergo a slow medoc maceration (15 to 20 days) at temperatures between 28 and 33 degrees celsius.  The wine is not filtered  and is then matured in Merrain oak casks for 9 to 10 months.

This Vin de Pays de l'Herault is velvety red in colour, on the nose there is a hint of toast as well as being elegant and harmonious.  In the mouth the flavours are rounded and concentrated, showing delightfully soft, velvety tannins.  The Organic Elise Rouge, Moulin de Gassac, Languedoc is balanced with persistent fruit, a fleshy wine perfect for special occasions.

A well-crafted blend of Syrah and Merlot. The Syrah gives the spiciness while the Merlot brings soft berry fruits to the wine.

Pretty peach and berry flavors mix with richer notes of roasted nut and biscuit in this creamy rose, which shows fine balance, with a hint of minerally fleur de sel on the refined finish. Drink now through 2019. - AN Score: 90 Wine Spectator Issue: Jun 15, 2012 Colour: Rose Sparkling
