The Brunel family has lived in the Southern Rhône since the 18th century. Andre Brunel's grandfather established the family winemaking tradition, and Andre himself took over the reins of running the Cailloux estate from his father in 1971. Under Andre's expert direction, Les Cailloux is now widely recognised as a world-class domaine. The vineyard holdings today span 80 hectares throughout the southern Rhône valley. All of the grapes are de-stemmed to avoid imparting bitterness, and since 1988, the wines are bottled unfined and unfiltered.

A sign of a good wine maker is one who gives the same attention to detail to his lesser wines as to his flagship wines.  This Grenache is a good example; an honest and robust red from Brunel.
