In Australia there is a huge diversity of wines which can be found. For example the unctous Verdelho from Bleasdale in South Australia's Langhorne Creek to a cool climate style Pinot Noir from Devils Corner in Tasmania.
Admittedly some mundane wines can come out of Australia, technically there is nothing wrong with the wines - they just don't excite the taste buds.
We consider it far better to seek out the more interesting wine producing areas such as the Margaret River in Western Australia rather than going for the obvious choice of big named wineries, and that is how we have chosen our selection of Australian wines.
